COUNTY SECRETARY & HEAD OF PUBLIC SERVICE

County Secretary & Head of PublicService – JG ‘T’ (1 Post), [5years Contract renewable once]

(Remunerationof this position is guided by the Salaries & RemunerationCommission which is subject to change from time to time)

Dutiesand Responsibilities

TheCounty Secretary will be the Head of the County Public Service in theCounty Government and will be responsible for the following:

1. Be the Secretaryto the County Executive Committee

2. Providingstrategic policy direction to improve service delivery in the CountyPublic Service.

3. Arranging thebusiness, and keeping the minutes of the County Executive Committeesubject to the directions of the executive committee.

4. Conveying thedecisions of the County Executive Committee to the appropriatepersons or authorities and track their implementation.

5. Ensure efficientmanagement of resources.

6. Interpret,disseminate and oversee the implementation of National and CountyGovernment policies.

7. Coordinate CountyGovernment activities.

8. Provide directionand guidance to public officers in the County.

9. Performing anyother functions as directed by the County Executive Committee.

Requirementsand competencies for Appointment.

1. Be a Kenyancitizen.

2. Be a holder of atleast first degree from a recognized university in Kenya.

3. Have atleast ten(10) years of relevantprofessional experience.

4. have at least five years’ experiencein a leadership position atsenior management level in a publicservice or private sector organization; and

5. Satisfy therequirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 onLeadership and integrity.
