The brain being the control center of your body, it is in charge of keeping your heart beating and lungs breathing and allowing you to move, feel, and think. That is why it is a good idea to keep your brain in peak working condition. The foods you eat play a role in keeping your brain healthy and can improve specific mental tasks, such as memory and concentration.  Here are some of the foods that are good for your brain.

Dark and leafy greens.

Kales  and spinach are rich in variety of vitamins , minerals and plant nutrients called polyphenols which are antidepressants. In recent studies , people reported eating raw spinach and kales noted fewer depressive symptoms. These greens also offer a source of vitamin B which reduces homocysteine which is a neurotoxin.

Fatty fish.


These include salmon, sardines, herring and tuna which are a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids which work in the brain to interact with mood related chemicals like dopamine and serotonin in addition these essential nutrients cannot be made in our bodies. Most depressed persons have a deficiency in zinc , magnesium and vitamin D which are all found in fatty fish.
