The book begins with preparation for construction: gathering personal protection equipment, assembling materials and applying occupational safety and health procedures. It then develops site preparation and construction records, accurate layout and pegging using geometry and environmental orientation, and the excavation and laying of foundations according to design specifications. Later chapters cover the construction of walls, floors, roofs, perches, laying boxes and nests, followed by equipping the house with feeders, waterers, heat sources and monitoring instruments while respecting kienyeji chicken allowances for feeding and watering space.
