JOB DESCRIPTION – AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS ATTACHMENT TRAINEE
Organization: Sincere Auto Garage
Job Purpose
To provide the trainee with practical, hands-on experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair while applying the automotive mechanics knowledge gained in college or technical training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced mechanics in vehicle inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement and fluid checks under supervision.
- Assist in diagnosing engine, electrical, braking, suspension and transmission problems.
- Use basic automotive tools and diagnostic equipment correctly and safely.
- Assist with brake system inspection and maintenance.
- Assist with battery, lighting and other vehicle electrical system checks.
- Support tyre inspection, wheel-related maintenance and general vehicle checks.
- Assist in dismantling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling vehicle components under supervision.
- Keep tools, equipment and the workshop clean and properly organized.
- Follow workshop health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Record completed maintenance and repair activities as directed by the supervising mechanic.
- Work as part of the garage team and learn professional automotive repair practices.
- Carry out other relevant duties assigned by the supervising mechanic.
