OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The office of the Assistant Director General coordinates, guides and oversees the programmatic and administrative cohesion of the departments of the Division, ensuring optimum delivery of servicesand output in line with Governing Body resolutions, including the General Programme of Work and the Programme Budget, and within the available resources. The office also aims at achieving synergies between individual programmes and their implementations, in compliance with the regulatory framework of the Organization.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Ensure reliable daily and periodic data are extracted systematically fromsource systems (ERP), transformed and summarized correctly and efficiently loaded in the BOSdata Warehouse;
- Develop new extracts and write SQL scripts that generate finance and budget reports and improve and optimize existing reports and dashboards;
- Gather business requirements, document and translate them into technical specifications. Translate business needs and requirements and design business data models with optimum data extracts and transformations;
- Develop new Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports; Maintain existing reports and dashboards;
- Identify data quality, performance and integrity issues. Reconcile financial, budget and HR statistics against the source systems and ensure correct amounts;
- Help identify new innovative tools, improve on established framework for managing data warehouse, business intelligence tools and reporting;
- Other duties and projects as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: First level university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
Desirable: Certification in Project Delivery Methods (Prince 2, PMBOK or similar methodologies). Certificationin ITIL Service Management Framework.
Experience
Essential: At least 5 years of professional experience in implementing Business Intelligence/Reporting solutions. At least 5 years of driving business requirements, identifying gaps and omissions, and designing solutions.
Desirable: Proven experience with implementing and supporting PowerBI and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. Experience with UN or other international or multinational organizations. Proven experience on other advanced reporting tools e.g.Tableau, InetSoft or other data warehousing tools.
