REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENTS

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

i. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
ii. Have Bachelors’ degree in any of the following disciplines: Environmental studies, Natural Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
iii. Membership to Environmental institute of Kenya or relevant profession body
iv. Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve;

i. Implementing county Environmental management plans;
ii. Participating in Environmental audits and following up implementation of the recommendations;
iii. Maintaining register on compliance to environmental legislation, propose corrective actions and follow upon implementation;
iv. Ensure compliance with the occupational health and safety programmes;
v. Coordinate environmental education;
vi. Carryout environmental inspection and promoting environmental quality;
vii. Ensuring compliance with the countys environment management;
viii. Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.
viii. Providing technical advice and managing projects;
ix. Inspecting properties to check conditions/foundation;
x. Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.
