This is a Fixed Term Contract with a well established, FMCG related manufacturing concern + custom printing operation. They are based in an industrial area in Johannesburg South, close to areas like Ormonde and Soweto. To apply you will need preferably a year or so experience in ink colour matching and colour draw down formation. In addition, it must be a reasonable commute from where you reside.
PURPOSE: As a part of an overall manufacturing support team, organize and perform the required day-to-day operation in the Ink room/Stereo Department. Ensures compliance to Safety and GMP requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• A member of the production support team of individuals who are multi-skilled and cross-trained on all required process equipment.
• In conjunction with Press and Coater crews, assist in performing quality and meeting manufacturing goals.
• Be able to follow written recipes and formulation for preparing WETS for each finished good product.
• Manage required daily inventory control.
• Prepare Colour Draw Downs for upcoming jobs.
• Observe and make recommendations on all issues regarding safety, quality, and production.
• Perform daily and periodic cleaning in order to maintain the required 5-S standards throughout the manufacturing area.
• All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required.
• Scan printed product using Xrite Colour Management system
• Perform ad hoc duties as and when required within reasonable job scope.
Candidate Requirements
• Matric with Maths/Science
• Preferably an Ink / Printing Technology related qualification
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in ink colour matching and colour draw down formation
• Use of Xrite Colour Management system
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Basic knowledge of computer software and functions.
