Job Description

MARKETING MANAGER /PRINCIPAL AGRICULTURE OFFICER JG CPSB 06 (1 POST)
REF/MCPSB/363/2022
Terms: Permanent/Contract
The marketing manager will develop, establish and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational
objectives and take responsibility for effective management of the marketing, advertising and promotional
activities of the organization.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
i. develop, establish and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives
ii. take responsibility for the effective management of the marketing, advertising and promotional
activities of the organization
iii. develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing products
iv. manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional activities and staffs
v. carry out market results to determine market requirements for existing and future products
vi. draw up and manage the marketing budget and deliver on marketing activities within agreed budget
vii. develop a pricing strategy
viii. periodically perform an analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor
information,
ix. expand and develop marketing platforms
x. manage the productivity of the marketing plans and project
xi. monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results
xii. report on return on investment and key performance matrix
xiii. create marketing presentations and
xiv. collaborate with the sales functions
Other additional roles.
i. Conducting market research to gain a clear understanding of what an organization.
ii. Developing marketing strategy which clearly outlines how an organization promotes its
products to the target market edge over competitors.

iii. Championing customer relationship management giving customer what they really want at the
time of inquiries.
iv. Managing employees within the market.
v. Identifying new business opportunities by analyzing market trends.
vi. Helps create and deliver strategies and campaigns for the company.
vii. Contributes in the implementations of marketing strategies
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
i. Bachelor’s degree in marketing/commerce or related course from a recognized university in Kenya
ii. Five (5) years post qualification experience in marketing.
iii. Have a deep understanding of sales and distributions.
iv. Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a higher performance sales team.
v. Proven experience in market research.
vi. A Masters in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
vii. Good communicator-Provides clear, concise written/verbal communication appropriate to the
audience.
viii. A young dynamic individual ready to work under pressure and perform, able to travel around the
country to meet clients.
