Job Description

An officer at this level will be responsible to the Manager Supply Chain Management.

  1. a) Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will include but limited to:

  1. Coordinating the collection, collation and analysis of data from the
    Authority and making appropriate recommendations thereof;
  2. Analyzing Supply Chain Management emanating from the Authority and initiating appropriate action;
  • Ensuring procurement and disposal functions are in compliance with statutory provisions.
  1. Preparing and submitting procurement reports on a regular basis;
  2. Undertaking market survey;
  3. Monitoring of the implementation of existing Supply Chain Management policies, guidelines and procedures;
  • Ensuring the correct interpretation and implementation of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, the regulations 2020, procedures and other statutes that impact on Supply Chain Management;
  • Planning and coordinating Supply Chain Management activities in areas such as procurement, warehousing, distribution, disposal of stores and assets, procurement plans and inventory control;
  1. Supervising, guiding, appraising and developing staff working under him or her.
  2. b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business
    Administration, (Supplies Management Option) or equivalent qualifications
    from a recognized institution.
  2. Master’s degree in a Procurement related field such as Commerce,
    Business Administration and/or Procurement from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience and at
    least three (3) years in a supervisory role in the Public Service
    or Private Sector.
  1. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
    institution.
  2. Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or
    any other relevant professional body and KISM supply practitioner’s license.
  3. Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
  1. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
