A person seeking to be registered as a student for any of the diploma examinations must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following minimum qualifications:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with an aggregate average of at least grade C- (C minus) or its equivalent.
  • Such other certificates and other qualifications from recognized institutions as may be approved by kasneb.

Course Description

Course Overview

Diploma in Information Communication Technology (DICT) Level 1 is a KASNEB diploma course that consists of 3 levels. DICT Level 1 covers four papers. These four papers include:

  • Introduction to computing
  • Computer Mathematics
  • Entrepreneurship and Communication
  • Computer Applications Practical I

Finstock Evarsity College offers a 6month online program examined by Finstock Evarsity College. A certificate is issued upon completion of the course. This program aims at preparing you for the DICT exams prepared externally by KASNEB. After passing the KASNEB exams you will be able to get a DICT certification.

This course imparts knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to, among other competencies such as:

Undertaking consultancy and advisory services in ICT

System developing

System programming

Undertaking network administration and maintenance

What is the minimum required grade required to do DICT Level 1?

For you to enroll for the course you should show evidence of being a holder of one of the following minimum qualifications:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with an aggregate average of at least grade C- (C minus) or its equivalent.
  • Such other certificates and other qualifications from recognized institutions as may be approved by kasneb.

Mode of Delivery

Finstock Evarsity College offers you an online platform to ease your studies. A student is provided with Home and/or office-based media employing a variety of self-instructional electronic and online self-study materials, such as; written self-instructional study modules, self-tests, cloud-based content, videos of lectures mediated technical learning materials e.g., audiovisual and e-learning materials.  We also offer an optional online meeting via zoom and google meet when you need clarification as you study. If the student has questions, they may also contact their lecturer on the platform. Therefore, study time as well as duration is flexible and fits into the student’s convenience.

  1. Internal exams are activated for students individually.
  2. External exams (where applicable) are booked one month after you complete the course.

Q4: Is this college accredited/approved?

Yes. The college is approved under the ministry of education, through TVETA, and also through National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
