Course Overview

The Basics in Event Management Course Offered at Finstock Evarsity College is a one month online program examined by Finstock Evarsity College. A certificate of completion is issued upon successful completion of the course.

An event management course will help you develop your interpersonal skills so that you feel more confident dealing with people in the workplace. Event Management will help you develop our personal communication skills. You will be required to develop your listening skills and be aware of the importance of body language because communication is not only about talking. Employers consider communication as the most important skill they look for when hiring a candidate. On the other hand, companies that want to employ event planners will first look at the communication skills the planner possesses. Through the training, you will gain excellent communication skills needed in any event.

What is the minimum grade required for a student to enroll and study for the course

There is no grade required for one to do this course.

Home and/or office-based media employing a variety of self-instructional electronic and

online self-study materials, such as; written self-instructional study modules, online

interactive devices and self-tests, cloud-based content, videos of lectures mediated

technical learning materials e.g., audiovisual and e-learning materials

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

1.Be able to apply strategic planning and project management skills in executing a real or simulated event.

2.Be able to develop an event from inception through to evaluation.

3.Be able to devise and implement message strategies to communicate to stakeholders through an event and be able to demonstrate evidence-based decision making in a team context.

4.Prepare a budget for an event or meeting.

  1. Prepare a site suitable for a specific group and their event or meeting objectives.
  2. Promote an event or meeting.
  3. Accommodate essential housing, transportation, food, entertainment, and communications needs

for an event or meeting.

  1. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and support service personnel for an event.

Event Manager

Event managers are responsible for tasks starting from conception to clean-up. Their job responsibilities include tasks such as delegating with clients, planning the event with the clients’ and team’s input and taking care of booking locations, food and staff.

Venue Manager:

 As a venue manager, you will be responsible for supervising all the operations of the event space such as staff management, overseeing all procedures and handling problems that may arise during the course of the event.

Catering Services Manager:

The job role of a catering manager includes responsibilities such as supervising the day-to-day catering services, overseeing the food quality and leading a team of chefs. They are also responsible for ensuring that all outlets under their jurisdiction perform well.

Social Media Event Coordinator:

The influence of social media has been drastic in the past few decades. It has spread its wings over many industries, starting from marketing to events. The job responsibilities of a social media event coordinator include promoting events online, creating unique hashtags, designing digital campaigns and doing live feeds to garner more attention for the event.

Wedding Planner:

When a couple decides to tie the knot, they want to ensure that the big day goes off without a hiccup. Hence, it’s best to hire industry professionals who know the system of wedding planning inside out. The job responsibilities of a wedding planner include handling everything starting from wedding dresses to the sound system, helping clients make calls as per their budget and expectations and overseeing all the nitty-gritties of the event.
