Job Description
Position: Teaching Practice Student / Montessori Teacher Trainee
Job Purpose
To assist in teaching and supporting children aged 18 months to 10 years using the Montessori Method of Education, with particular attention to children with different abilities and special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting Montessori-based, practical and hands-on learning activities.
- Use Montessori materials and equipment to support children's learning and development.
- Observe children and identify their individual learning and developmental needs.
- Provide individualized support to children with different developmental challenges.
- Support the development of language, numeracy, motor, social, communication and practical life skills.
- Assist with classroom preparation, routines and classroom management.
- Adapt teaching activities and materials to suit children with different abilities.
- Encourage children's independence, confidence and participation in learning.
- Work closely with the supervising teacher and other staff to monitor children's progress.
- Maintain appropriate records of children's learning and development.
- Ensure a safe, clean, respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Follow school policies on child safeguarding, health, safety and professional conduct.
