Foundations of Monitoring and Evaluation course (FME) is a program and project management 1-month course offered at Finstock Evarsity College. This course provides an introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of monitoring and evaluation.

The Foundations of Monitoring and Evaluation course (FME) course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation: definitions, purposes, and importance in program/project management
  • Developing a theory of change and logical frameworks.
  • Identifying appropriate indicators and setting targets.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
  • Sampling techniques and data quality assurance
  • Analyzing monitoring data and evaluating program/project outcomes
  • Using Monitoring and Evaluation findings for decision-making and learning
  • Ethical considerations in Monitoring and Evaluation 
  • Communicating Monitoring and Evaluation  results to stakeholders

What is the Entry Requirement to Study for the Foundation of Monitoring and Evaluation Course

To enroll and study the Foundations of Monitoring and Evaluation  Course, a student should have a minimum of D Minus (D-) in their KCSE exams.
