Job Description

To deliver comprehensive, high-quality primary and secondary clinical care within a multidisciplinary private hospital setting, ensuring patient-centered service, clinical excellence, and adherence to Namibian healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough consultations, diagnoses, and management of acute and chronic illnesses in the outpatient department (OPD).

  • Admit, manage, and provide daily review of patients in the general medical wards under the supervision of a consulting physician.

  • Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as suturing, incision & drainage, catheterization, and pleural taps.

  • Participate in the 24-hour call roster for emergency department coverage and inpatient emergencies.

  • Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests including laboratory, radiology, and ECG.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records using the hospital’s Health Information System.

  • Provide health education and promote preventive care to patients and their families.

  • Collaborate closely with nurses, pharmacists, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

  • Comply with all hospital protocols, infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines, and Namibia Ministry of Health and Social Services regulations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Community Health from a recognized institution.

  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.

  • Minimum of 3 years of continuous post-internship clinical experience in a busy hospital setting.

  • Proficiency in emergency care, primary clinical procedures, and patient management systems.

  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Afrikaans or Oshiwambo is a strong advantage.

  • Must be eligible for and willing to undergo registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA)—employer will facilitate.

Desirable:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in a specialty such as Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, or Surgery.

  • Experience working in a private healthcare facility.

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • Gross Monthly Salary: NAD 40,000 - NAD 50,000 (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
