HOSPITALITY & RETAIL BARISTA (COFFEE SHOP SPECIALIST)

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barista for a high-end specialty coffee shop in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will be a coffee expert dedicated to crafting exceptional beverages, delivering world-class customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coffee Excellence:

   • Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages (espresso, filter, cold brew, signature drinks) to exacting standards.

   • Demonstrate expert latte art and milk texturing techniques.

   • Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on professional coffee equipment (e.g., La Marzocco espresso machine, Mahlkönig grinders).

   • Maintain thorough knowledge of coffee origins, roast profiles, and brewing methods.

2. Customer Service & Sales:

   • Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service to all guests.

   • Educate customers on coffee menu items and make recommendations.

   • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

   • Process cash and card transactions accurately using the POS system.

3. Operations & Hygiene:

   • Adhere to strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols (HACCP standards).

   • Manage daily opening and closing procedures.

   • Monitor and manage inventory of coffee, milk, and other supplies.

   • Ensure the café is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.

   • Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Barista in a reputable café or coffee chain.

• Certification: SCA Barista Skills certification (Foundation or Intermediate) is highly preferred.

• Skills: Exceptional latte art, strong communication skills in English, excellent customer service attitude, and ability to work under pressure.

• Medical: Must pass a mandatory pre-employment medical examination for a Qatar work visa (includes tests for HIV, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, etc.).

• Documents: Valid Kenyan passport, Certificate of Good Conduct, and attested academic/professional certificates.
