TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER – COMMERCIAL (WITH APPROPRIATE LICENSE)

We are seeking experienced, safety-conscious Heavy Truck Drivers to join our international logistics and transport teams. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods over long distances, adhering to all local and international transport regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Operate heavy articulated trucks, multi-axle vehicles, or specialized trailers (flatbeds, tankers, reefers) in a safe and professional manner.

2. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections (D.L.V.I.) of the vehicle, documenting and reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.

3. Plan delivery routes using GPS and map systems to ensure optimal efficiency and on-time delivery.

4. Ensure all cargo is properly loaded, secured, and protected in accordance with safety standards and the nature of the goods (e.g., hazardous materials, perishables).

5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks, delivery notes, waybills, and all required transport documentation (e.g., CMR consignment notes).

6. Comply strictly with all hours-of-service regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.

7. Perform basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor roadside repairs (e.g., tyre changes, bulb replacement).

8. Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, border officials, and the public.

9. Adhere to all customs and cross-border procedures for international routes.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

• A valid Kenyan BCE-class driving license with a clean NTSA driving record abstract.

• Minimum 3-5 years of verifiable, accident-free experience driving heavy commercial trucks.

• Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.

• Physically fit and able to pass a comprehensive medical examination (including eye, heart, drug, and infectious disease screening).

• Excellent knowledge of vehicle mechanics, safety standards, and cargo securement techniques.

• Strong discipline, reliability, and ability to work independently for long periods.

• Training in Defensive Driving, HAZMAT, or Firefighting is a distinct advantage.
